NRC stand for
The word nrc stands for the National Register of Citizens. The matter of nrc was raised to be exercised in the state of Assam. The authority claims that the purpose of nrc is to detain illegal immigrants and deport them to keep the ethnic uniqueness of Assam unaltered. GCC meeting on NRC
United Muslim Action Committee held a meeting on Friday at All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) head office. The purpose of this gcc meeting on nrc was to discuss and formulate a strategy against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2024 and National Register of Citizens (NRC). A lot of Muslim scholars along with AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi have participated in the meeting. All of them have unitedly come to a decision to oppose the new law and go for the demonstration with police permission.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday also participated in a meeting held on December 23 in all the sub-division headquarters of the state with a view to opposing National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). This meeting is called the ‘No NRC & No CAB‘ meeting led by Mamata Banerjee and held in all the sub-division headquarters of the state.
As the law grants citizenship to non-Muslims from three neighboring countries of India named Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. But the law will not grant Muslims from any of these 3 countries. However, the opponents are saying that it is part of Modi’s Hindu-nationalist masterplan

Not only the opponents, politicians, some higher bodies but also the think tanks of the country are opposing the law and saying it is unconstitutional because it goes against the country’s secular credentials. So the stand for ‘no nrc no cab’ is becoming stronger day by day. Time will say how the condition becomes.
